Marijuana edibles are everywhere – in shops, homes, and even in the bags of people on the go. Did you know there are vegan edible recipes waiting for you?
There are many weed edible products available in stores and online retailers. But, for those on special diets or who are whizzes in the kitchen, making your own edibles is an appealing option.
When you make your own edibles, you can tailor your recipes to meet your taste, dietary restrictions, and even your preferred dosing. There are a seemingly endless number of edible recipes available online.
Below, we share three vegan edible recipes you will love and should try making at home.
A Note on Cooking With Weed
Users can make edibles using a variety of different marijuana products, but three of the most popular include:
- Marijuana flowers
- Cannabis oils
- Cannabis tinctures
If your chosen vegan marijuana edible recipe calls for cooking with weed, it is essential that you do not cook with raw weed. The reason: weed in its raw form will not get users high.
You must put your marijuana product through a process called decarboxylation first. This process changes THCA and CBDA, which are the ineffective forms of THC and CBD, into THC and CBD, which makes them effective.
There are many ways you can do this, but one of the easiest involves using your oven.
- Turn the oven on to 107 degrees Celsius and place the oven rack in the middle position.
- Cut a piece of aluminum foil the size of your baking sheet and lay it over your baking sheet.
- Gently break up your cannabis buds until they are about the size of a grain of rice and spread them across your baking sheet.
- Place another piece of foil on top and put it all in the oven for about 45 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature (about 30 minutes).
Note: Cooking times may vary, so keep an eye on your weed. You want it toasted but not burnt. If you smell burning, be sure to check your weed.

In Summary
Although there are many marijuana edibles on the market today, you may want to make your own at home. You can find weed edible recipes for every meal and every dietary restriction, including vegan.
As you cook, remember your dosing. Divide the amount of marijuana used in the recipe by the number of servings to get an idea of how much cannabis your homemade edible will contain.
Remember to keep edibles out of reach of those who are underage.
Happy cooking!
