What is Weed Wax?

What is Weed Wax?

Are you looking for a potent cannabis extract that will give you maximum pain relief and enhanced highness from recreational cannabis? Weed wax is the answer. This creamy and sticky substance, primarily amber or dark yellow, comprises 90% THC concentrates

The manufacturing process is usually complex but very effective in extracting THC concentrates. For this reason, cannabis wax has more potency than other cannabis products. The intoxication is immediate, extreme, and therefore dangerous in the event of an overdose. This article explains the definition, the different types, and the consumption techniques of weed wax.

What is Cannabis Wax?

Weed wax is a pure viscous substance extracted from a cannabis plant with a high THC concentration. The substance resembles honey or butter, with an amber or dark yellow colour depending on the extraction process. Weed wax is popular for its THC concentration, surpassing other marijuana extracts. A single hit is potent enough to keep you high for an entire day.

Wax is extracted from the weed plant using butane.

Extracting cannabis wax is a complex process that needs meticulous safety procedures. This is because butane is a flammable gas that can easily cause explosions. It would be better for you to purchase already processed wax from a licensed dispensary.

The Benefits of Marijuana wax

There are many ways to consume marijuana. But weed wax has its advantages that might suit you well.

The following are some of the benefits of weed wax:

  1. You do not have to consume a lot of weed to get high. The high THC concentration assures you that a small amount of wax will get you highly intoxicated. Also, there is no need to worry about space to store bulk weed or expensive trips to your local dealer to get your daily supply of blunts.
  2. It eliminates the pungent smoke. If you do not like marijuana smoke, probably because of health implications, weed wax is a brilliant way to get high without having to expose yourself to smoking. The smell of the weed wax also fades away easily, making it suitable for users who prefer to smoke wax but find the smell of marijuana repulsive.
  3. Weed wax lasts longer than other marijuana forms. Storing weed plant materials requires a space with optimized conditions to prevent diminishing the quality of the concentrates. However, weed wax already has its THC extracted, and chances of potency reduction are low.
  4. It is easy to use. Unlike dried marijuana leaves which still need purification, THC wax is ready to use. You do not have to fret over cleaning it. Just place the desired dosage of THC wax in your vaporizer and hit.

Different Types of Weed Wax Products

Cannabis concentrates are extracted from the white resin of the marijuana flower. The resin contains potent cannabinoids that are activated to keep you high.

The resulting substance from this process is a waxy solution that can be vaporized and inhaled during consumption.

Below are a few types of cannabis wax available from your dispensary:

  • Budder

Budder is a high-quality wax, very soft, and viscous cannabis concentrate. It is usually extracted at extreme temperatures. It undergoes intense whipping and stirring during the process, thus giving it this texture.

  • Shatter

Shatter is one of the purest cannabis waxes available in the market. It contains about 80% THC potency. Its appearance resembles a glassy substance that doesn’t have a distinct flavour. It contains about 80% THC potency.

  • Crumble

Unlike budder wax made at a high temperature and stirred during the process, crumble wax is extracted under low heat to allow progressive vapourization. The result of this process enables you to obtain flaky wax. However, the process allows the wax to retain its superior flavour.

  • Crystalline

These are purified forms of marijuana wax that have no colour, aroma, or flavour. Crystallines can have up to 99.9% pure THC content owing to their exhaustive butane extraction process.

  • Sugar Wax

It is a shiny and slightly sticky cannabis concentrate. Premium weed strains that can retain water during extraction are used to manufacture sugar wax, thus creating a substance that looks like dirty brown to light yellow sugar.

  • THC oil

THC oil or hash oil is a common form of cannabis concentrate containing resins and terpenes. The oil can intoxicate you and can be consumed in capsules, tinctures, or vaporizers.

Different Types of Weed Wax Products

How is Weed Wax Made?

The process of making cannabis wax requires the use of butane gas, which is highly flammable. Any weed product extracted in this manner is called butane hash oil (BHO). Initially, crude weed waxes were made by simply passing butane through a pipe filled with the plant material. The result was disastrous. Fires and explosions were common. For this reason, manufacturers should own designated labs and equipment that would ensure minimal risk.

The following is the process of making THC wax:

  1. Soak marijuana buds with liquified butane to extract the white resins from the marijuana plant material. These white resins contain high concentrations of cannabinoids.
  2. Heat the mixture of the resins and butane. Ensure that you expel as much butane as possible to extract wax with a fine texture during the heating process.
  3. After the extraction, evaporate the extra traces of butane and obtain pure marijuana concentrates. Spread this substance in a vacuum oven at low temperatures.
  4. The final substance is a viscous THC concentrate that is cooled and stored in containers.

How to Take Cannabis Wax?

Traditional forms of marijuana consumption might not suit every user out there. How can you take weed wax? Smoking wax is better than consuming plant matter, but there is still a pungent smell you may not like. The high THC concentration makes weed waxes ideal for users who prefer to get instant highs.

The following are a few techniques you could use to consume wax:

  • Dabbing

First, dabbing begins by directing a blow torch flame directly at the dab nail. When the nail is hot, place the glass dome with a crumb of wax over the dab nail. Let it cool for a few seconds, apply the dab tool directly on the nail inside the dome, and inhale the wax.  Then exhale and enjoy!

  • Vaping

Vape pens with ceramic heating chambers are the most common instruments used during vaping. To allow proper combustion, ensure your vaporizer has titanium heating coils. To vape, wax requires you to inhale gaseous concentrates. Vaping wax allows you to enjoy your weed without pungent smoke.
